Celebrating Deaf Creativity at Phoenix Some-Antics: Literary Leicester Special
We’re excited to highlight an inspiring evening of creativity, community, and accessibility at the Phoenix Art Centre in Leicester. As part of the Literary Leicester programme, this special edition of Some-Antics brings together spoken word, music, and Visual Vernacular performance in one vibrant space.
The event features BSL Poet Laureate Ishtiaq Hussain winner 2025 performing Ish’s VV World, showcasing the power of Visual Vernacular and Deaf storytelling. Audiences can also enjoy an open mic, poetry slam, DJ set from Ninja Bob, and a raffle — creating a lively and inclusive atmosphere for all.
Delivered in partnership with University of Leicester and supported by SanRoo Publishing, the evening is fully BSL interpreted, reinforcing a shared commitment to accessibility and cultural exchange.
