Ish’s VV Workshop was both insightful and beautiful. His delivery was very clear and at a good pace.

I am more confident to make my own Interpretations more visual, thus making it more accessible to my audience and clients.

I couldn’t recommend Ish’s VV World workshop enough! Ish had me engaged for the entire 2 hours, the time really flew by! As a second language user of BSL this was a great session to learn about the linguistics that make up the elements of VV and to give it a go in a safe and comfortable environment. As well as understand the art and creative expression that is at the heart of VV performances. Ish provided us with a master class in VV, himself being so talented, I could watch his VV all day! Do not hesitate to get yourself booked onto a workshop.

Its so amazing experience, discover the new language, enjoy working with the group, has cheered me up, when its finished, I even begged him to extension for 1 hour, but its only 2 hour workshop, actually loved it, will learn more about vv whenever workshop happening again

Ish was absolutely brilliant! I hadn’t expected a small group but worked really well and all were very encouraging and supportive. I liked how Ish signed back to us what we had produced for us to see how it would be better adapted. This was a good way for us to see how it can be done and areas to improve on.

Learning should be fun – and this workshop was not only great fun, but really informative and eye-opening. It’s given me thirst for more learning and research on the subject and I’m sure it will have a positive impact on my work as a BSL interpreter, as well as my ability to play and have fun with sign and VV

A HUGE THANK YOU! I would love to do this workshop again and would happily play. It was a joy to be part of an intimate workshop and encourage Ish to deliver to more audiences. The learning is invaluable for BSL Interpreters, both TSLI and RSLI. As a TSLI myself, amongst RSLI colleagues, I felt very safe and positively encouraged by Ish.

I really appreciated Ishtaiq’s interaction with the participants, he was very encouraging.

I plan to practice on my own in private! I will pick one story line and add more and more detail. Perhaps when I am ready I will film the story.

The visual vernacular is a skill that interpreters should use more often- we just don’t always know how. This course expands one’s knowledge and skills in a safe space to try and try again. I left feeling two things- 1) I want to learn more about VV and B) I plan to use it more when interpreting.  Ish’s teaching skills are excellent. Each section/skill set explained in a fun but educational way- highly recommended.
