  • Frances Land, Black Country TouringDeaf Awareness

Very good balance of learning and understanding how hard it is to navigate through life as a Deaf person in a hearing world.  Good balance of doing practical activities as well as listening.

Visual Vernacular Workshop

  • Karen Pane, Northwich

I really enjoyed the workshop, I learnt a lot, the teaching was clear, well explained and gave me acti9vities involving VV which was good. I realize I have to learn a lot. I do hope to join next level VV workshop! Look forward to the next one! Thank you

  • Jonny Cotsen, Cardiff

Would love to do more of this!

Maybe be good to do a short performance!

  • Paul Dowling, Oldham

I felt that Ish presented his workshop extremely well, he made me feel very relaxed and the experience of the workshop very enjoyable. Ish explained every detail very clearly in order to grasp the context of what is required to use VV. Ish encouraged everyone to partake and gave feedback and praise like a true professional. The whole experience was most enjoyable and has given me the confidence to practice the art of VV.

  • Margaret Elaine Hill, Stockport

A most enjoyable workshop from VV World, very well delivered.

Informative, Interactive, well-paced, good feedback from our Tutor and encouragement from the other participants.

Thank you for an enjoyable evening Workshop.

  • Lesley Weatherson, Portsmouth

The visual vernacular is a skill that interpreters should use more often- we just don’t always know how. This course expands one’s knowledge and skills in a safe space to try and try again. I left feeling two things- 1) I want to learn more about VV and B) I plan to use it more when interpreting.  Ish’s teaching skills are excellent. Each section/skill set explained in a fun but educational way- highly recommended.

  • Marie Jensen, Stoke-On-Trent

Ish’s VV Workshop was both insightful and beautiful. His delivery was very clear and at a good pace.

I am more confident to make my own Interpretations more visual, thus making it more accessible to my audience and clients.

    Brilliant workshop. Thank you! 😊

  • Denise Bennett, Nottingham

For anyone wanting to incorporate more body language/facial expression this is a must.  For me when translating a song to BSL sometimes the BSL just doesn’t meet the lyrics or the music which is why I wanted to do this workshop.  Absolutely wonderful session.

  • Lynn West, Rye

I really appreciated Ishtaiq’s interaction with the participants, he was very encouraging.

I plan to practice on my own in private! I will pick one story line and add more and more detail. Perhaps when I am ready I will film the story.

I would like to attend more workshops.

VV will benefit my work with Deaf people that have limited use of BSL.

  • Linzi Weatherson, Portsmouth

A HUGE THANK YOU! I would love to do this workshop again and would happily play. It was a joy to be part of an intimate workshop and encourage Ish to deliver to more audiences. The learning is invaluable for BSL Interpreters, both TSLI and RSLI. As a TSLI myself, amongst RSLI colleagues, I felt very safe and positively encouraged by Ish.

  • Jackie Orr, Belfast

This workshop was amazing, Ish made everyone feel at ease and explained the visual concept in simple terms.  The time flew in and we covered so much in 2 hours but it did not feel crammed in, it was delivered at a great pace.
