Artist<\/strong><\/span><\/h3><p>My name is Ishtiaq Hussain, and I am an award-winning Deaf Visual Vernacular (VV) artist, performer, presenter, trainer and mentor based in the West Midlands.<\/p><p>For over 15 years, I have been using the power of visual storytelling to entertain, inspire and connect audiences through movement, facial expressions, mime and cinematic techniques. As a fluent British Sign Language (BSL) user, I am passionate about creating performances that transcend spoken language and can be experienced by people from all backgrounds, cultures and generations.<\/p><p>My work combines humour, emotion and creativity to create memorable visual experiences that engage audiences without the need for sound. Performers transform into multiple characters, perspectives and environments, creating scenes that audiences can experience through imagery, emotion and movement rather than spoken words.<\/p><p>This highly visual art form allows stories to cross language barriers and connect with audiences in a truly universal way.<\/p><p>I began my Visual Vernacular journey in 2011 and have since developed a
